The SSC CGL notification 2024 has given a list of various Group B and Group C level posts which they will recruit for along with the pay levels. SSC CGL 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling out the SSC CGL exam form, make sure you meet the eligibility criterias set by the recruiting authority. There are various criterias like equation, age, educational qualification and nationality which you need to fulfill in order to successfully apply for SSC CGL examinations.

Here are the criterias notified by SSC for the year 2024:

Nationality

The candidate must be a citizen of India. If not, then they can be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a person of Indian origin who may have migrated from from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

The age limit for SSC CGL application 2024 is set from 18 years to 30 years of age. However it may vary depending on the post you are applying for, but it will not exceed the upper limit.

Also there is allowed relaxation in the upper age limit for certain categories. Here is a list of category-codes for claiming age relaxation:

Educational Qualification

The basic educational qualification as announced by SSC for SSC CGL recruitment 2024 is to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or its equivalent. The candidates who are in the final year can also apply for SSC CGL 2024 given that they can get the certificate before the cut-off date i.e. 1 Aug, 2024.

SSC has also announced certain criterias for specific posts in the SSC CGL notification 2024 like:

  • Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)- For this position candidates must have either achieved a minimum of 60% in Mathematics in their 12th grade or have studied Statistics as one of the subjects during their graduation.
     
  • Statistical Investigator Grade-II- For this role candidates should have studied Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics as a compulsory or elective subject during their graduation.
     
  • Research Assistant in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)- The candidates need to have a minimum of one year of research experience from any recognized university or research institution apart from having a Bachelor’s degree.

SSC CGL Application 2024

With the notification release for SSC CGL notification 2024, the online application for the exams has also kickstarted. The entire process of filling up the application form SSC CGL exam can be done online. You can fill up the form by visiting the official website www.ssc.nic.in. The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/-  for the form. However, female candidates and candidates from  SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM are exempted from application fees and hence need not pay anything. The application fee can be paid through Net Banking, BHIM, UPI or by Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards only.

Also after the closing date of SSC CGL form application, the commission also has notified about the dates of the opening of exam correction window which is from 10 aug, 2024 to 11 aug, 2024. However you might need to pay a little charge for using the correction window.

Documents Required For SSC CGL Application 2024

While applying for SSC CGL exam 2024, there are a list of documents notified by SSC to be submitted. Preparing them beforehand will make the process more handy and smooth Here’s a detailed list of the documents you need to have ready:

  • A scanned copy of your signature in n JPEG/JPG format(10 to 20 KB) with dimensions of 6 cm x 2cm.
  • A valid photo identity proof like Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, Driving Licence, or any other government-issued ID.
  • Document proof of your date of birth may include a birth certificate, 10th standard mark sheet, or any other official document that verifies your date of birth.
  • Scanned certificates of your educational qualifications are required based on the position you are applying for.
  • reserved category such as SC/ST/OBC certificate, if any
  • scanned copy of your disability certificate, if any

There is no longer a need to prepare a photograph because your picture will be directly scanned at the SSC form fill-up portal and will be used for future references.

Selection Process For SSC CGL 2024

As a SSC CGL 2024 aspirant, you must know the selection process for the SSC CGL. The different tiers of SSC CGL are as follows:

  • Tier I – Qualifying Computer-based Examination
  • All candidates who have applied successfully for SSC CGL 2024 exam, will be assigned Roll numbers and Admit Card for appearing in the Computer Based Examination (Tier-I).
  • Based on the marks scored in Tier-I, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II Examinations.
  • Tier II – Computer-based Examination divided into 3 phases- Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Paper 1 is compulsory for all the posts.
  • Separate cut-offs will be fixed for Paper-III of Tier-II (i.e. for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), Paper-IV of Tier-II (i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer) and for Paper-I + Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e. for all other posts).
  • In Tier-II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will be required to appear in Paper-III and Paper-IV respectively.
  • SSC has introduced minimum qualifying marks in SSC CGL 2024 Exam. Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, each Paper of Tier-II and Tier-III Examination are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/ EWS, and 20% for others.
